The Wanamassa Fire Company has announced the addition of a new Firefighter to the Company.
Firefighter Matt Armstrong has joined the company and will be attending a 12-week basic training course at the Monmouth County Fire Academy in Howell Township.
“We are very fortunate to have this dedicated young man in the Company,” said Fire Chief Scott Valenti. “I commend Matt for his willingness to help his community”
Armstrong comes from the Company’s Junior Firefighter program.
“Matt is one of four members that has gone through the program” said Valenti.
“It really gives them an advantage when they attend the fire academy”
Valenti also commends the program advisors firefighters Jim Scollay and Tim Clarke for their time and dedication to the program.
