Last night, the Neptune City Borough Council, the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners, the New Jersey State Senate and the New Jersey State Assembly recognized two firefighters for their actions during a structure fire that resulted in the rescue of a civilian.
Ex-Chief Nick Dowling and Neptune City Firefighter Franklin Doremus were acknowledged for their actions during the 2nd alarm structure fire at the Brighton Arms Apartment Complex in December of 2022.
Firefighter Doremus was alerted to the fact there was a resident still in her apartment and with the assistance of Ex-Chief Dowling, was able to effect a rescue, which resulted in only minor injuries to the resident.
We commend both Ex-Chief Dowling and Firefighter Doremus for their heroic actions during the incident.
Thank you to all government agencies involved in recognizing these firemen!
